An alternate version of the Sandman's transformation was shot but unused in the final cut. An extended fight between Harry Osborn and Peter Parker was animatedly shot which was not in the theatrical cut, however it was partially seen in the Comic-Con trailer. 
The movie was originally going start with with male child imitating his hero Spider-Man as his mother retrieve him from the rope he was swinging from in Central Park. Note: Most or all of these scenes are proven to be a real by the novelization, behind the scenes footage, shots from unused scenes, and exclusive Editor’s cut scenes. Her friend explains what love is to a woman. Mary Jane and her friend were talking about John Jameson and wondering if MJ loves him. While in class, Peter was learning about Dr.O's Fusion that taught by Dr.Connors, however he was not paying attention and doodling about MJ and himself as Spider-Man wondering what he wants. Jonah Jameson was dressing as spider-man and imitating his webbing poses and jumping around while his employees watch him at awe at what he has done, Robbie being displeased, Betty laughing, and Hoffman being stunningly shocked at him dressing as Spider-Man. After Peter's check up at the Doctor he asked him about his dream as Spider-Man, an alternate way of portraying the scene was the doctor telling Peter his shrink and how face with identity and able to become your own. A PR firm was taking an elevator in the building upon the arrival of spider-man, the guy decided pitch some ideas to him so that Spider-Man can have some sort of branding, however he decline his number card. An extended fight scene with Spider-Man against Doctor Octopus, took place at a certain area and Spider-Man captured but Doc Ock's tentacles and being attack, there were even more footage shown later while scaling up the building, Spidey pinning Doc Ock to land multiple punches. (This scene was shown in FX airings of the movie not in 2.1 edition). An alternate scene where Peter arrives back to his apartment, and chains his moped to a lamppost and enters the building. Harry then calmed down and apologize on his birthday and the scene ended with Aunt May and Mary Jane singing happy birthday to Peter. Harry Osborn was talking to Peter about his father and how he was murdered by Spider-Man, Peter tried to calm him down and soon after it talked about the death of Peters uncle as an analogy to kill Spider-Man.
